About us
Let's introduce ourselves, we are two sisters Maria and Diana, the founders of the ANDRADE_MD brand.
Maria is an artist who writes and creates works related to the cultures of different countries.
In her paintings she tries to combine the two very different cultures and history of Latin America and Europe. This Art Fusion focuses on legends, rituals, songs and poetry of the past and expresses them with modern painting techniques.
Diana Andrade Andrade is a clothes designer who draws inspiration from the art work of her sister, Maria. After graduating with a masters degree in fashion design in 2019, she created the clothing brand Andrade2.Her unique work incorporates the bright, stylish paintings of Maria, which in turn are inspired by their love of travelling. Visiting all parts of the world, they draw on different cultures and materials for new ideas. Their brand's DNA is a reflection of symbols, legends and stories of contrasting nationalities which are borne out in the rich patterns of Andrade clothing. Whether it’s scarves or the natural inside linings of their latest trench coats, the unique creative process shines through.
Of course, it takes time building a concept and visualising its possibilities with mood boards and sketches However, the goal is always the same. Combining art with classic and modern clothing designs to produce something that’s always comfortable, natural and beautiful to look at.
A little about the creation of scarves: the idea of a new design is born in distant countries. Usually we travel to the origins, get inspiration there, visit museums, communicate with local residents, read a lot of information. Having reworked the collected, Maria makes a lot of sketches. Gradually everything is twisted, the first symbols appear, an image is born. Each design has its own story (legend) and we always tell about it. The process of creating scarves is laborious (or maybe better to say difficult). First, all the created design is carefully drawn and processed on a computer. In a factory, high-level craftsmen try colors on samples, we agree on them, choose the fabric and approve the size. Next, we test the future scarf: we wear it, check if it irritates the skin, and then launch the collection. The finished accessory is packed in a bright box, accompanied by a design card and sent to the customer.
A little about creating clothes:
We are looking for new ideas in the histories of ancient civilizations, where people considered making clothes a whole art. It all starts with an idea, a concept, we make a lot of mood boards and sketches. The artist creates a print that we print on fabric. It should be in harmony with the future product. We try to use only natural materials and give preference to tradition and classic cut. Sometimes the design changes in the course (or process) of work, new elements are added. But we always strive to create beautiful and comfortable clothes so that you can wear them with great pleasure. Now available for sale: cashmere and wool scarves, poncho-coats.
